HERBERT WENDALL: A TALE OF THE REVOLUTION. New-York: Harper & Brothers, 1835. 8vo, 2 vols. 202; 212, [4] pp., includes 4 pages of ads at front of first volume and at rear of second volume. Bound in original publisher's cloth with printed paper spine labels. Provenance: With the early ink signatures of John A. Ensign. **************** FIRST EDITION OF THIS SCARCE WORK OF AMERICAN FICTION. Written anonymously. Very scarce to market: RBH records the last auction appearance in 1976 (Sotheby Parke Bernet).
Condition
Some partial cracking of cloth along hinges and edges, spine faded and slightly skewed, cloth wrinkling in places. Contents with patches of foxing throughout, occasional finger-soiling and creased corners.
