Description
ENGLISH STAFFORDSHIRE TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC TABLE ARTICLES, LOT OF NINE, including seven with blue transfer designs including a coffee pot with domed cover having a charming thatched cottage scene, a pitcher featuring a piper leaning against a tree and a sitting woman with animals, a square vegetable server, lacking cover, with pattern "A SHIP OF THE LINE IN THE DOWNS" featuring a tall-masted ship flying an American flag, an 11 1/2" x 8" oval platter insert with "Tower" pattern, and a reticulated "QUADRUPEDS" undertray with "Fox and Rooster". Marks include printed and impressed "SPODE", and printed "J HALL / QUADRUPEDS". John Hall, Burslem; Spode, Stoke-on-Trent; Enoch Wood & Sons, Burslem, England; and others. First half 19th century. Coffee pot 10 1/8" HOA.
Pitcher, brown transfer coffee pot, and ladle undamaged; remaining having minor to moderate imperfections including losses, yellowing restoration, or hairlines.
