ENGLISH STAFFORDSHIRE BICOLOR TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC TABLE ARTICLES, LOT OF SIX, comprising a footed punch bowl with black transfer image of women playing chess with red/pink transfer floral border, a 6 1/4" D bowl having "Belzoni" pattern featuring green transfer exterior design of two figures on horseback with interior red border decoration, and four plates with "India" pattern having red and black transfer design featuring two native-dressed figures with temples in background. Marks include impressed "ADAMS" and various printed numerals. Enoch Wood & Sons, Burslem; William Adams IV & Sons, Stoke-on-Trent, England. Second/third quarter 19th century. Punch bowl 4 1/4" H, 10 3/8" D rim.
Plates undamaged having some minor expected usage wear; punch bowl with bruise to rim; bowl with restoration to hairline extending from rim to base underside. Some having manufacturing flaws, including kiln kisses and/or stilt marks, as made.
