The heavy molded ceramic spill vase is in the shape of a sheep on the ground with a stream. The sheep has hand painted features and is flocked with small ceramic chips for wool. There are a couple of molded clumps of grass too. There are gilt accents on the vase mouth and a border along the base. The base has an unglazed shallow foot, but the base itself is glazed. There are no marks or labels. MEASUREMENTS 7 ½” (19.0 cm)tall x 5 1/8” (13.0 cm) wide x 3 ½” (8.9 cm) deep. Weighs 1 lb 6.8 oz (645 g) CONDITION There are no chips, cracks, or breaks. The chip wool is in good shape with no losses. There are a couple of spots in the wool by the rump with a bit of green paint. This was from manufacture error. There are glaze bumps, paint spots, and glaze crackling on the piece from manufacture, as well. A fun, whimsical, aged piece of English folk art from the 19th century that will add to a collection or give a touch of substance to the décor.
