Lot 0646 Details

Description
Charles M. Russell (1864-1926) Western artist. Russell created more than 2,000 paintings of cowboys, Indians, and landscapes set in the Western United States, in addition to bronze sculptures. He vividly caught the blood-stirring action of the Old West in his paintings of Native American war parties, brawling cowboys, Native American buffalo hunts, and bucking broncos. His soft-cover book, More Rawhides, Montana Newspaper Association, 1925, signed, in pencil, under an introduction, A Few Words About Myself…, he has added a sketch of a buffalo skull and the date "1926." Modest wear.
