Description
ENGLISH STAFFORDSHIRE PEARLWARE TRANSFER-PRINTED AMERICAN VIEW CERAMIC JUG / PITCHER, having dark blue transfer design featuring the "VIEW OF THE / ERIE CANAL.", as printed to underside, one side having "View of the Aqueduct Bridge at Little Falls" and reverse having "Entrance of the Erie Canal Into the Hudson at Albany" with floral design to interior border and handle. Impressed "6" and blue printed "25" to underside. Probably Enoch Wood & Sons, Burslem, England. 1818-1846. 5 7/8" HOA.
Having some professional restoration to spout and rim with light radial hairlines to base and lower half, one hairline near lower handle terminal.
