Description
FOLK ART FRAKTUR BIRTH RECORDS, LOT OF TWO, watercolor and ink on paper, each for a member of the Higgott family, one born May 19th, 1734, the other September 22, 1769, each with serpent heads working into the first letters, largest with another date appearing to be 1786 and an illegible name at bottom edge, probably for the scrivener. Housed under glass in early frames, each inscribed "Rev. Masemore" to backboard. Second half 18th century. 7" x 11 1/4" and 7 3/4" x 11" OA.
Very good condition with faded colors, expected toning and minor spotting. Not examined out of frames.
Provenance: From the private collection of Dr. James and Sheri Swinehart, Cincinnati, OH.
