Description:Colorful very detailed transferware dinner plate by Ridgeway Ironstone of Staffordshire England from the late 19th century. A low fire ceramic ironstone plate with a transfer design of flowers in colors of browns, blues, yellows and orange. The design is almost a paisley floral arabesque. The rim is decorated with a pattern of daisy flowers in a band. There is a slight round foot with an indented base. The base and foot are both glazed. There is a mark underneath on the base. It reads; 11 “Jacobean” 72 GENUINE HAND ENGRAVING BY Ridgway .IRONSTONE. EST. -.- 1792 Staffordshire ENGLAND ALL COLOURS GUARANTEED UNDERGLAZE AND DETERGENT PROOF and a hand painted red 77 . MEASUREMENTS 10” (24.5 cm) diameter x ¾” (1.9 cm) tall. Weighs 1 lb 2.9 oz (540 g) CONDITION There are no chips, cracks, or breaks. There is light wear to the central well and the colors are still bright and fresh looking. There are a few wear discolorations on the back. These are small. A great Aesthetic Movement plate to add to a set or a collection. It will look great with so many decors from Victorian to Shabby Chic.
