Ceremonial Axe named Kilonda, used by the Songye and the Nsapo peoples who live in Democratic Republic of Congo.
Metal blade with wooden handle, which is entirely covered with hammered copper. The western Songye are famous for their copper axes decorated with faces.
Provenance: former private collection from Belgium.
