Description
Francis, Sam (American, 1923-1994) and Joan Mitchell (American, 1925-1992) and Walasse Ting (Chinese/American, 1929-2010), Fresh Air School: Exhibition of Paintings, complete with one original lithograph by each artist, number 23 of 30, signed by each artist, Francis and Ting signed directly on their lithos, Mitchell's signature appears at the header of her section. Exhibition catalog, 1972, published by the Museum of Art, Carnegie Institute, Pittsburgh, lithos printed by Maeght, Paris, introduction by the museum's director Leon A. Arkus, also includes many b&w illustrations, all housed in original blue covers, pages loose, as issued, lithos are double-page and measure 15 x 22 inches each. This is one of the 30 copies of this catalog signed by each artist that Arkus prepared for friends of the museum. Provenance: from the estate of a former director of the Carnegie Museum of Art.
Condition
In nearly fine condition, bright, bold colors, each litho with fold down center as originally issued. Merchandise will be packed and transported by the purchaser at their own risk and expense.
