Impressionist depiction of a Boston street speckled with people walking at dusk. Goodwin was a plein air urban scene painter and self taught following the Ashcan School led by Robert Henri and gained recognition from other famous artists including John Singer Sargent, Mrs. Jack Gardner, and John T. Spaulding.
Oil on canvas,14" x 17",
Signed "A. C. Goodwin" in pencil on verso on stretcher, faintly titled on verso.
From the collection of a North Scituate, Rhode Island gentleman.
Condition
Professionally restretched with minor inpainting, otherwise good condition.
