Richard Bernard was 16th-century English Calvinist Puritan whose nonconformist sermons led him to form his own congregation of separatists in the early 17th-century, even though he wrote many book against church Separation. Bernard also composed ‘Thesaurus Biblicus,’ a thesaurus and dictionary designed for clarifying Bible reading and understanding scripture.



This 1644 first edition features a full-page engraved portrait of Richard Bernard.
