Description
MARTIN-FERRIERES, Jacques (Jac), (French, 1893-1972): "Neige sur la Seine", winter snow on the banks of the river Seine, Oil/Canvas, signed and dated '17 lower left, 25.75" x 35.5", framed 28" x 38.5".Provenance: From a private Florida collection, sold with a copy of Wally Findlay Galleries receipt dated 1969 and a copy of a 2017 Christie's appraisal for $18,000. This painting has been in the same family for over 50 years through four generations. Originally purchased in the 1960Â’s by Martin Weiner, New York textile and real estate mogul, an original investor in the Empire State Building. Passed by descent in 1969 to daughter Iris, then passed to husband Dr. Sanfurd G. Bluestein also in 1969, then passed to current owner in 2014.
