Description
This very large doll furniture play set was gifted with a number of other play items to a family who where very poor at the time. Diana became very close to this family and gifted a number of items from her childhood. Diana wrote her name on all her items due to having other members in her family, she was known to look after her belonging through her life.
It comes with a letter which explains the relationship that took place in the late 1970's. The play sets and books are well looked after but do have wear and aging. These were gifted with a card from Diana in 1983, the card says "Surprise!!". Cara and her family were extremely poor and a special relationship was bonded between them and Diana.
Here is an excerpt from the letter that comes with the item:
"Many people may not realise, but even from her youth, Diana had a humanitarian's heart..."
Another statement in the letter:
"Everyone needs shoes was one of her sayings [referring to the Princess of Wales] and for the early years, Dians gave her own childhood shoes for Clara (Cara) to wear."
