Part of the personal letter mentions how the Princess of Wales was very low in 1996 and that her butler, Paul, was her rock during this time and states how touched she was by the support.
In a second letter that comes with each item, the Princess of Wales states:
"I am sending you a few personal items that may be useful for your charity although sometimes I wonder why...." It appears she feels unsure why her personal items would be of any value to anyone else.
