Description
ENGLISH STAFFORDSHIRE FLOW BLUE TRANSFER-PRINTED IRONSTONE ARTICLES, LOT OF 25, including ten 3 1/3" D butter pats having "Melbourne" pattern, and seven plates, three cups and saucers featuring "Touraine" pattern, each having deep blue floral transfer designs with gilt and scalloped rims. Printed marks include "MELBOURNE", "TOURAINE / SEMI PORCELAIN / HENRY ALCOCK & Co / ENGLAND" and "TOURAINE / STANLEY POTTERY Co. / ENGLAND". W.H. Grindley & Co., Tunstall; Henry Alcock & Co., Cobridge; Stanley Pottery Co., Burslem, England. Late 19th/first quarter 20th century. Plate 8 3/4" D, cups and saucers 2" HOA.
Sixteen undamaged; two butter pats with minute flake to rim underside and one with rim bruise; one cup with minute flake to rim; four plates with flakes to rim and one with rim chip, each with scratches and wear to interior from use.
