A very rare old carved wooden post with spirit or mask face on top and painted with a red mineral pigment. Salampasu peoples, Congo, Africa. The post measures 21 inches tall. Provenance: Field collected by Rev. Lawson Mooney C. 1965.
Condition
fair, eroded and weathered. Post will not stand on its own
