Federal coin silver sugar tongs with engraved bright cut bellflower design, bearing maker's mark and sheaf of wheat pseudo hallmark attributed by William Roe (working Albany c. 1776, Kingston c.1800, Troy c.1805 and New York 1826-1831). Bend with tear appearing at bow across monogram (E.G.), wear to ends of bowls. 6 7/8" length. 2.025 oz troy. Deaccessioned by Cheekwood Botanical Garden and Museum of Art to benefit the acquisitions fund.
