Description

A late Victorian gold coral brooch. Carved to depict a coral bust of a young child, atop golden outstretched wings. Length 4.4cms. Weight 9.8gms. Coral untested.

Condition

Overall condition good. Some surface scratches and very minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.

Replacement brooch fittings and safety chain.

Piece believed recently cleaned to a high finish.

Coral untested for natural colour origin.

Coral is a mottled light to medium pink hue.

Small polyp hole and associated fine natural fissure.

Estimated dimensions of coral 14 by 10 by 11mms.
