Description
Includes an 18kt white gold mounted and blue faceted gem ring, stamped, "18" with an unidentified pictorial hallmark, accompanied by an April 22, 1952 White & Wesley Jewelers Certificate of Physical Properties stating that this ring is, "Blue, pleochroism very definite pale blue light blue, size 12x10mm, color is blue black, cut oct. scissor cut, refractive index double - 1.77, hardness 9, weight mounted stone cannot weigh, mounted stone - have to dismount to get complete microscopic field, indications are that it is a synthetic sapphire - heat fractures on pavilion facets indicate it is synthetic. Stone is badly fractured (broken)". Accompanied by a silver brooch inlaid with (4) blue faceted stone of varying sizes; a scarab bracelet; "The Mrs WM Boyce Thompson Foundation" sterling pin with enamel decoration; a silver bracelet with hanging carved carnelian charm; and a 9ct gold branch form pin. Total approx. weight of 18kt gold ring is 3.4 dwt. Ring size - 4. From a Rye, NY estate. Dimensions: bar pin measures approx. 2" in length x 0.56" h.
