Description
ENGLISH STAFFORDSHIRE PEARLWARE TRANSFER-PRINTED SOUP PLATE, featuring dark blue transfer design depicting a Roman figure holding a basket of fruit in left hand, a sickle in right hand, having shield with American eagle and "PEACE / PLENTY" at right side, with floral surround. Impressed crown encircled by "CLEWS WARRANTED STAFFORDSHIRE". Ralph & James Clews, Cobridge, England. First half 19th century. 10" D.
Good condition, having some short scattered scratches to interior with glaze flake on interior, possibly as made. Interior stilt marks, as made.
