Description
English Staffordshire Pottery Transfer Printed Platter. White earthenware with blue printed transfer, a central scene depicting figures in front of the Boston Alms House, surrounded by a leaf pattern rim with a vine border. Atrributed to Stevenson. While it doesn't bear any makers mark, the pattern matches that of Stevenson. Marked on underside in blue 'Alms House Boston'. Small c in blue. Impressed '14'. First quarter 19th century. {Approximate dimensions: 14 1/2 wide x 10 1/2 inches deep.} Condition: Small chip to the rim. Crazing is apparent upon close inspection. A few very small raised defects have chipped. Minor wear and manufacturing defects to the bottom.
