Description
Case. Art Deco Cartier 18kt yellow gold and rose gold hinged cigarette case with geometric honeycomb design, and oval sapphire cabochon closure. Inscription to interior lip, "Cartier Paris Londres New York". With French domestic gold hallmark of .750 representing 18kt gold; and an unidentified maker's mark in lozenge form cartouche; based on similar examples found in Cartier 1900-1939 by Judy Rudoe this piece was most probably designed by Charles Jacqueau. Total approx. weight is 119.9 dwt. From a Rye, NY estate. Dimensions: case measures approx. 4.375" w x 3.375" d x 1" h.
Condition
Light surface scratches, and minor dings/dents. Interior inscription of, "Richard O. Johnson".
