Item Details
Description
A selection of 17th/18th century gold diamond jewellery. To include a rose-cut diamond cross and cluster motif openwork necklace on later back-chain, together with a table-cut diamond cross pendant and table-cut diamond foliate pendant. Necklace with maker's mark JS. Pendants with marks, indistinct. Length of necklace 52cms. Length of pendants 5 and 3.8cms. Total weight 43.5gms.
Condition
  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Necklace back-chain is later replacement.
  • Central diamond to necklace possible replacement. One diamond to link closest to the cross motif has principal diamond noticeably chipped.
  • Diamonds in closed back settings, presumed foil back.
  • Diamonds vary, some with surface reaching inclusions.
  • At least four of the necklace panels are stuck with the JS maker's marks. Possible further marks obscured.
  • Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
