Description
An early 20th century gold diamond and ruby brooch. The old-cut diamond graduated three-stone line, with alternating cushion-shape ruby and old-cut diamond scrolling sides. Estimated total diamond weight 2 to 2.50cts. Length 4.5cms. Weight 7.3gms.
Condition
  • Overall condition good to fair. Some surface scratches/wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Diamonds fairly well matched.
  • Diamonds bright.

  • Principal diamond estimated weight 1ct, I-J colour, P1 clarity.
  • Principal diamonds with some indented naturals to one side of the table.
  • Individual size and setting of non-principal diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Non-principal diamonds with some small light and dark inclusions and natural crystal features.
  • Rubies are a well matched medium red hue, well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions.

  • Rubies in good condition with some abrasions.
