Antique c. 1920 Print "Waterloo" Dogs Playing Poker, by C.M. Coolidge, after his painting originally commissioned in 1903 as a cigar advertisement that has since become an iconic American piece of art. Hand written above the print are the words Club Limits 5 & 10 cent. In frame 15"x12"x1/2". Weight 2 pds. PROVENANCE: A Charleston SC Private Estate. Cassius Marcellus Coolidge (1844-1934) was an American artist, mainly known for his series of paintings Dogs Playing Poker. Known as "Cash" or "Kash" in his family, he often signed his work in the 19th century with the latter spelling, sometimes spelling his name, for comic effect, as Kash Koolidge.
