Lot 0495 Details

Description
June, 1944 dated Ike Jacket, size 36R with a cut-edge 82nd Airborne patch on the left sleeve, Corporal stripes on either side, and a "Ruptured Duck" discharge patch on the chest. Also has "US" and Artillery enlisted collar disks. Best of all, there is a pinback, "STERLING" WWII Glider Badge on the chest. There are also extra stripes and a 24th Army Corps Command patch in the pocket. This setup - Artillery and Airborne with Glider badge suggests Forward Observer for Artillery, and these guys were dropped with glider troops to scout ahead and spot for Artillery crews on D-Day and throughout the European Theater of Operations. Great condition for this piece of ETO history. Excellent
