Item Details

Description

A gold foil-back garnet and split pearl necklace. Comprising a pear-shape foil-back garnet fringe, suspended from a circular-shape foil-back garnet line with split pearl spacers and concealed clasp. French assay marks. Length 42cms. Weight 19.3gms.

Condition

Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.

Split pearls spacers are later added.

Mounts have been adapted and significantly re-worked.

Garnets are in closed, foil-back settings and appear a deep slightly brownish-red hue.

Deterioration to the foil-backing.

Split pearls are well matched, in good condition.

Clasp testing as 9ct gold, french assay marks.
