Famous Signers on Colonial CurrencyScarce Larger Size Two Pounds Virginia of March 4, 1773
JOHN BLAIR & PEYTON RANDOLPH.
Fr. VA-68. Current Money of Virginia. March 4, 1773. Two Pounds. Copper-Plate, James River Bank Form. Manuscript Date. Signed "Peyton Randolph" and John Blair," Fine to Very Fine. Only 1,300 of these notes having been authorized to be printed. The two historic signatures are well written in deep, bold brown ink, as are the manuscript portions. The print quality is dark and bold, on fine laid paper measuring 4.75" x 7" that is very clean. The top half of the vertical centerfold and central fold hole, has pieces of older clear plastic tape on both the face and back as reinforcement, which has toned to a light yellow color. Endorsed on the blank reverse by Robert Carter Nicholas, as Treasurer. One of the very best documents allowing collectors to acquire the important signatures of Peyton Randolph and John Blair.
