Description
ENGLISH STAFFORDSHIRE "FAIRY VILLAS" FLOW BLUE, TRANSFER-PRINTED TEA SERVICE, SET OF 15, comprising a teapot, sugar bowl, creamer, and six cups with saucers, some with remnants of gilt to rim. Most with printed mark of "Stone China", "Fairy Villas", and "W. ADAMS & Co. ENGLAND" to base. William Adams & Co., Greengates, Tunstall. Late 19th century. 6 1/2" HOA.
Teapot with flake on underside of cover and minor radial hairline on underside; glued handle on sugar bowl; tea cups with minor flakes on some bases and one handle restored. One tea cup handle with small firing separation, as made.
Literature: Transferware Collectors Club database pattern #2446.
