Description
Circa 1890. There were a series of these houses made around 1890 and they came in different sizes and trim work. This house is the smallest one they made and it does have all the components found in a Mystery House. The black decoration outlining the house is called chamfered wood (this is a four sided cut of trim work which is mounted on the front and sides.) This house has the slanted roof with plain decorative trim work over the top of the windows. It has two doors on the front that open to reveal four rooms! It has fine vintage wallpaper inside that have been replaced and the exterior of the house has been repainted as well. However, it has been done with great skill and taste. For further information on Mystery Houses, a good source is "Dolls Houses in America" by Flora Jacob. Condition: (Good). Dimensions: House: 32 - 1/2" x 20" x 41". CORRECTION: Table comes with doll house.
