1785 ATLAS MAPS & Voyages Travel Geography Asia Arabia BEAUTIFUL
Noël-Antoine Pluche was an early 18th-century French priest and historian who is most remembered today for his landmark work of natural history ‘Spectacle of Nature’. While this work would have significant influence on botanists and naturalists, Pluche designed the work to be for the general population, not of scientific merit.
Pluche, however, was not known for to just ‘Spectacle’. He wrote a number of other works including a large geographical concordance. This work, first published in 1785, was alphabetical concordance with was supplemented by 13 folding plates and maps.
