Description
Regency Giltwood Three-Part Overmantel Mirror

first quarter 19th century, framed with spiral-turned columns, the upper tablet decorated with a central shell flanked by panels of delicate raised latticework, the top with a projecting cornice set with gilt spherules, the antique glass plate lined with ebonized reeded trim.
h. 26", w. 40"
Condition
In good "as found" condition. The antique mirror plates exhibit some imperfections in their silvering. It is consistent from plate to plate. The surface exhibits rubbing and abrasions to the gilt as well as some chips/losses revealing the underlying plaster. The gilt retains some elements of its original gilt, with areas of regilding and overpainting.
