Concluded by Newton Edmunds and Gen. H.H. Sibley at Fort Sully, Dakota Territory, ratified March 5, 1866, and proclaimed by President Johnson on March 17.  This treaty saw the O'Gallala Sioux tribe agreeing to peace with the government and with neighboring tribes, as well as the ceding of land, for the sum of $10,000 a year, for twenty years.
