Description
Two early 20th century gem-set rings. The first designed as an 18ct gold old-cut diamond panel with graduated vari-shape sapphire sides, the second designed as a circular-shape ruby and oval-shape sapphire line star-set with tapered band. One with hallmarks for Chester, partially indistinct. Total weight 7.2gms.
Condition
  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • One band slightly out of shape.
  • One band with localized file and pitting marks.
  • Some stones possible replacements.
  • Diamonds fairly well matched.
  • Diamonds fairly bright.

  • Estimated total diamond weight under 0.10ct.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • All coloured stones in fair condition with some abrasion and nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.

  • Ring sizes P and I1/2.

  • One stamped 18, date letter is worn and indistinct.
  • One stamped 18CT.
