BOOKS: (10) Vols Japan 1897 Millet Yedo Edition, 10 volumes in cloth-covered hardcovers bound in the Japanese style. J. B. Millet Company, Boston, 1897. Yedo Edition, number 20 of 1000. The texts contain monotone and hand colored photographs of Japan and it's culture during it's modernization period. 12 x 16 inches. Varying page counts.

Provenance: Estate of Huguette Clark

Notes/Literature: Huguette Marcelle Clark (1906-2011) was an heiress and philanthropist, who became well known again late in life as a recluse, living in a hospital for more than 20 years while her mansions remained empty. She was an accomplished artist and musician, having studied under famous portrait painter Tadeusz Styka, and her paintings were exhibited at the Corcoran Gallery, Washington in 1925.

Good, with cloth faded and worn around edges on a few volumes, some front free endpapers creased or torn, be advised that all lots in this sale will exhibit some degree of wear due to age and/or handling
