Faberge Carved Chalcedony Elephant W/Ruby, Citrine & 18K Yellow Gold Headdress, Toes & Pearl Accented Tusks From a Vietnamese Royal Family - This magnificent piece is a Faberge elephant figurine, which is made of carved chalcedony. The piece shows stunning attention to detail and has a beautiful play of color. The elephant is finished with solid 18k yellow gold tusks, which are each finished with a 4mm pearl accent. The elephant wears a headdress of solid 18k yellow gold, which contains a 1.50ct (approximate) citrine center and approx. 0.75ctw genuine ruby accents. The elephant is then finished with genuine ruby toes and blue sapphire eyes, which are also set in solid 18k yellow gold. The side of the tusk is marked "Faberge" (in Cyrillic). This piece comes from the estate of a Vietnamese Royal Family (the family now lives in the United States, and wishes to remain private), and we are told that a member of their family received this special piece as a gift from a Russian Czar. The piece will come housed in a red leather casket. The piece measures approx. 4.5"W x 3"H.
