Description
Late Meiji Kagamibuta Netsuke Distressed Daruma. Late Meiji bronze and wood kagamibuta (mirror lid) netsuke. Patinated bronze top with design of Zen Patriarch Daruma raising his hands (one with hossu - fly wisk - in it) in distress. Wonderful quality work - see his expressive face, clenched fists and flow of robe lines. Both metal disc and rosewood bowl are in excellent condition. Disc diameter 1 5/16 inches, bowl diameter 1 5/8 inches.
