Details: Yixing Pottery Tree Trunk Form Vase from China. This unusual Zisha Ware Terracotta tree bark vase, incised with calligraphy and signature, stands approx. 11.75" high. It is two-tone brown with tree twig/bark form handles.

Zisha Ware is made with Yixing Clay, which is a type of clay from the region near the city of Yixing in Jiangsu Province, China. This clay has been used in Chinese pottery since the Song dynasty (960–1279) when Yixing clay was first mined around China's Lake Tai. (Courtesy of Wikipedia)
