18th century Splint Light. C 1720-60. American or English. Forged & Rolled Sheet Iron. 9 1/8"H X 5 11/16"W X 5 7/16"D. Fine blacksmith made splint & candle light stand. Tripod footed base, triangulated lipped drip pan, twisted shaft with pigtail ended chair hook/handle, adjoining forge split splint holder tension arm, with riveted finger grip. Riveted small candle cup & splint holder ring. Oxidized original black painted surfaces.
