STAFFORDSHIRE TRANSFER-PRINTED AMERICAN VIEW CERAMIC COVERED VEGETABLE DISH / COMPOTE, having sepia transfer view on interior of "The Capitol Washington" as marked on base; river and boat scene on cover with floral borders on edges and base. Printed "T GODWIN, WHARF" on base as well as "AMERICAN VIEWS" and "OPAQUE CHINA". Thomas Godwin, Burslem, Staffordshire, England. Circa 1845. 6 7/8" H.
Excellent undamaged condition with little expected wear.
