Lot 0418 Details

Description
Two early 20th century 18ct gold diamond and gem-set rings. To include an Edwardian ruby and diamond ring and a 1920s garnet ring. Hallmarks for Birmingham, 1909 and 1921. Weight 6.7gms.
Condition
  • Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Rubies dark and light red with strong to moderate saturation, and profuse inclusions which somewhat affect the passage of light through the stone.

  • Garnets dark slightly brownish-red, well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions.

  • Diamonds well matched.

  • Diamonds bright.

  • Cut and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents total carat weight estimation.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Stones in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.

  • Ring sizes L and N1/2.
