Description
A late Victorian silver and gold, enamel and diamond fob watch. The circular-shape garnet, with green guilloche enamel and old-cut diamond surrounds, the watch face reverse with old-cut diamond surround, suspended from a rose-cut diamond scalloped surmount and rose-cut diamond bar. Three diamonds deficient. Signed Le Roy et Fils. Estimated total old-cut diamond weight 0.85ct. Length 4.8cms. Total weight 14.4gms.
Condition
  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Possible replacement garnet and enamel.
  • Three rose-cut diamonds deficient to surmount.
  • Diamonds fairly bright and well matched.
  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Garnet is a slightly purplish red hue. Eye-visible inclusions.
  • Personal engraving to inside of the back, 'Ida, 14th May 1896'.
  • Diameter of watch 1.9cms.
