Description
Herend (Hungarian, founded 1826), mid to late 20th century. Two porcelain serving dishes in the "Rothschild Bird" pattern, including a cake plate and a serving bowl or tray. Both hand painted with two central birds surrounded by butterflies and insects, with a scalloped basket weave rim with a gilt edge, the cake tray with two asparagus form handles. Both marked to underside indicating production post-1948. Approximate height (of cake plate) 2.25", diameter (including handles) 13".
