A Mesopotamian bronze amulet of Pazuzu, Neo-Assyrian, c. 8th - 6th Century BC, the deity's head and face are depicted with a large bronze loop in the suspension hole. L: 37 mm. Nicely patinated. Pazuzu was regarded as a malevolent demon whose influence could be conjured and insecurely controlled.
