Mourning Becomes Electra, A Trilogy

Lot 0002 Details

Description
  • Title: Mourning Becomes Electra, A Trilogy
  • Author: Eugene O'Neill
  • Publishing: Horace Liveright in November, 1931
  • Edition: Second printing, Second Edition

Eugene O'Neill's trilogy, "Mourning Becomes Electra" (Homecoming, The Hunted, The Haunted). The binding is tight, with no loose or missing pages. This is a nice copy, which will probably lose its mustiness with a good airing.

  • Condition
The dust jacket is edge-worn, scuffed, and with a sunned spine, but in one piece, with the art and lettering unfaded, and with the price not clipped. The cover, blue/green background with gold lettering and decoration, plus a light blue frame and wave design on the front, is in very good condition, with slight curl to the ends of the spine, and light scuffs, but no notable stains or tears. The spine is straight and securely attached. The inside is also very good. The only notable flaw is a moderate mustiness. There is no sign of mold, mildew, water damage or the like. My assumption is that it has been in storage. The smell isn't strong, but, if you're sensitive to such things, you should pass on this one. The illustrated inside cover spreads are clean and unfaded, with no stamps or other attachments, no writing or notations. The pages are clean throughout the book, with no tears or creases, no fade to the lettering.
