A mass of well-formed galena crystals from the famous deposits in the Rodopi Mountain region of Bulgaria, with minor pyrite, quartz, and sphalerite, and dotted with tiny rosettes of rhodochrosite (?). There are around 80 mines for lead and zinc in the area whose reserves are among the largest in Europe.
