Sefer Ketubah - Hafla'ah. Novellae on tractate Ketubot by Rabbi Pinchas HaLevi Horowitz. Lvov, [1816]. Signature and glosses of Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Sheinfeld, rabbi of Shimandi, and additional ownership signatures.Â
[5] 108 [should be 168] leaves, 36 cm.Â
Second edition of the book. On the title page is the handwritten signature of Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Sheinfeld, and in the book's leaves are some 15 glosses in his handwriting.Â
Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Sheinfeld (1830-1868) was the rabbi of various communities and then in Shimandi, by whose name he is known. [Material about him is enclosed.]
On the endpapers is an additional ownership signature: The small one Eliezer Fischel from Pest, and the signature of Chaim Ganzfried from the Ganzfried family of Ungvar, here in Vac.Â
Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Sheinfeld's signature is slightly cut off; however his handwritten glosses are legible.Â
Old and damaged leather binding. Creases and tears on the title page. Aging stains. A few worming holes. Moderate condition.Â
