Set of Four Maurice Dufrene Art Deco Sycamore and Bayeux Needlework Armchairs. Each with scrolled back over outset channel molded arms and curved supports centering a bowed over upholstered seat raised on slighted flared legs, the backs depicting various vignettes from the Bayeux tapestry on a golden needlepoint ground the seats with entrelac border on a golden needlepoint ground, Circa 1940. Dimensions 31 1/2 x 20 x 22 inches (80 x 50.8 x 55.8 cm). Maurice Durfrene (1876-1955) was one the founding members of the Salon des Artistes Decorateurs in 1904, exhibiting there for 30 years. He was one of the most talented proponents of the Art Deco movement.
