Offered lithograph was originally accompanied by the poem Le Mystère des choses, où est-il? by Fernando Pessoa, Portuguese poet and writer.
Condition:The work is in a very good condition. The image dimensions measure 53.4 x 42 cm and the sheet dimensions are 75.8 x 55.8 cm. The sheet is mounted to a mat with four photo corners; its dimensions measure 79.6 x 65 cm.
Antonio Saura (1930-1998)Antonio Saura began painting and writing in 1947. He was a co-founder of the artist group El Paso, which was founded in 1957 in Madrid. The group was headed by him until 1960. Successful years followed with first exhibitions in international galleries. The artist became increasingly active in printing processes and even interrupted painting on canvas. Saura is known as an adversary of the Franco regime. He created stage decors for theatres, operas and ballets. Saura participated four times in the documenta, as well as in many exhibitions in international museums. He has received the Guggenheim-Prize, the Gold Medal for Fine Arts of the Spanish State and the Great Art Prize of the City of Paris.
